Born, 1780; a member of the Brougham family of Brougham Hall, Westmorland, and brother of Henry, 1st Baron Brougham and Vaux (1778-1868), John Waugh (1785-1829) and William, 2nd Baron Brougham and Vaux (1795-1886); a barrister; had the management of the Brougham estates; helped his brother Henry in his election campaigns in Westmorland; MP for Tregony, 1826; MP for Downton, 1830; MP for Winchelsea, 1831; MP for Kendal, 1832; granted office as Registrar of Affadavits and Clerk of Letters Patent, both performed by a deputy, 1832; died, 1833.
