CONTEXT
Administrative/Biographical history:
The Moorgate Tube Disaster took place in February 1975 when a London Underground tube train crashed at Moorgate station. Over forty people were killed, and seventy badly injured. The majority of victims were brought for treatment to the London Hospital, and some to St Bartholomew's and Guys Hospitals. An emergency operating area was erected on the platform and was attended by doctors and nurses from local hospitals.
